Overview

The Raj Mahal, which was earlier identified as Ranawatji-ka-Bagh, was built by Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1728 for his queen Maharani Chandra Kumar Ranawatji. It remained abandoned for quite sometime but it regained its grandeur after Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II moved into the Palace. In 1980, after the royal family moved to another palace, Raj Mahal was rehabilitated into a Heritage Hotel. This mansion has hosted celebrities like Queen Elizabeth II and Jacqueline Kennedy.

The Raj Mahal Palace heritage hotel situated on the Amer Road in Jaipur, is locally known as the Maji-Ka-Bagh that reflects tales of royal life, royal intrigue of Rajput warriors.
