Overview

     Built in the17th century by Maharaja Jaswant Singh I of Jodhpur, the red sandstone Balsamand Lake palace employed the typical ornate Rajput architectural style. The palace is placed merely 5 kilometers north of the city limits of Jodhpur, on the Mandore Road, overlooking the still and clear Balsamand Lake. Balsamand Lake palace was initially conceived as the summer residence of the Jodhpur Maharaja which has now been fitted with all modern amenities and converted in to a heritage hotel but that does not take away the old world charm of the property. The Palace is set in a private estate of over 60 Acres, with sprawling orchards of lime and pomegranate and landscaped gardens criss-crossed by elegant waterways and an aqueduct.

Accommodation

The hotel has 35 exquisite and opulent rooms that can be categorized as Garden Rooms and Regal Suites. Each room is tastefully and luxuriously designed in authentic Jodhpur style, with traditional seating, chaise lounges by the window and enormous jacuzzi baths. The gracious interiors are matched only by the spectacular views of the pristine lake and the splendid gardens.

The exclusive continental restaurant also serves mouth watering delicacies housed in a 16th century palace. The Tea/Coffee Bar serves 5 to 6 varieties of teas/coffees on the Lake Facing Terrace with light snacks.
