Spiti Valley Jeep Safari

Duration: 13 Nights/14 days

Destination: Delhi – Shimla- Sarahan – Sangla- Nako – Tabo- Dhankar – Lalung- Kaza – Chandratal- Manali – Delhi

Day 1 : Arrive Delhi

Arrival at Delhi airport to a warm welcome from our representatives who shall assist & transfer you to a pre-booked hotel. Overnight stay at Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi – Shimla

Today’s drive will start our adventurous Jeaep safari as well move towards Shimla via Chandigarh. This is a pleasant drive and will familiarize you with ways of driving on the Indian roads. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel and rest of the day free to explore the town. Ride around Shimla which is a pleasant blend of natural settings and modern developments. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Shimla

After breakfast, full day jeep tour of the city visiting famous places and tourist destinations including the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Jakho Temple and Sankat Mochan Temple. Post lunch, we will be taking a stroll, visiting the Ridge, relaxing in the quite and serene locations and a short shopping expedition. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 04: Shimla – Sarahan

Rev up your machines for the long and adventurous jeep drive to Sarahan, en-route visiting the town of Rampur. After sightseeing of Rampur, continue drive towards Sarahan and upon arrival check-in at the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 05: Sarahan - Sangla

Today early morning we drive towards Bhimakali temple, a sacred place and greatly revered by the villagers. Later, the jeep safari moves towards the scenic Sangla valley, on the way halting at the historical fort at Kamru village. Upon arrival at Sangla, we set up camps for the whole group and arrange for campfire. Talk away the evening amidst quaint and picturesque location at the lap of nature. Overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 06: Sangla

Full day exploration of the Sangla valley as we drive the jeeps into its interiors. Visit the small villages located nearby including the Chitkul village. Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay. .

Day 07: Sangla - Nako

Today’s jeep safari will take us to the famous Nako to witness the point of confluence of Satluj and Spiti rivers which is at Khab falling en route. This picturesque village of Nako is located on the banks of an equally picturesque lake. We will be setting up camp accommodation near the lake followed by dinner & overnight stay.

Day 08: Nako - Tabo

After breakfast proceed for the historical jeep safari which will take us to Tabo monastery. Founded in 996 A.D., this millennium old monastery is called the “Ajanta of Himalayas”. Standing at an altitude of 3050 m, this sacred place has preserved the Buddhism traditions, values and glory for over a millennium now. After the holy tour, we will be setting up camp accommodation near the border of the Tabo village.

Day 09:Tabo - Dhankar - Lalung - Kaza

Morning visit to two other sacred monasteries of Dhankar and Lalung. Later, a visit to the village to interact and get an insight into the lifestyle of the tribals. Evening jeep drive to Kaza and upon arrival accommodation at the campsite.

Day 10: Kaza

Today we will be visiting the holy monasteries of Kaza including Ki monastery and Kibber village. Post lunch, we will be visiting the popular Chao Chao Kang Nilda peak located in the village of Tashigong. Located at an altitude of 6303 m above sea level, it is a snow covered peak offering a majestic view to the visitors. After driving around the rough terrains which are both picturesque and troublesome to ride, we set up a camp for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 11: Kaza – Chandratal

Take a day off your four wheelers to visit the famous Chandratal by one of the most exciting trekking expedition stretching 4800m. Also known as the ‘Lake of the Moon due to its inherent beauty, chandratal is located amidst scenic locations comprising of snow capped mountains and tranquil lakes. Explore the lake at your own pace followed by return to campsite for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 12: Chandratal - Manali

Today’s exciting jeep safari will take us to Manali en-route crossing one of the highest motor-able roads in the world- the Rohtang (3980m) Pass. Be sure to keep your camera handy as we will be witnessing some breathtaking views of Spiti valley, Barashigri Glacier and CB ranges. Upon arrival check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 13: Manali – Delhi

Day time free for leisure activities. Ride around the town or visit the local market shopping for ethnic handicrafts and other decorative articles. Evening transfer to Delhi by an A/C coach and upon arrival transfer to the hotel.
Dinner & overnight at Delhi.

Day 14: Delhi Departure

Morning transfer to the international airport and board flight to your onward/return journey.
