HORSE SAFARI TO INTERIORS OF RAJASTHAN

Destinations: Delhi-Alsisar-Mehnsar-Fatehpur-Bagri-Khuri- Chapar-Kandaldesar-Mukam- Bikaner-Jaipur- Delhi

Day 01/ Arrival at Delhi
Arrival at New Delhi International Airport and meet with our representatives who, after a traditional Indian welcome, will transfer you to a pre-booked hotel. Later in the day, a formal tour briefing followed by drive to India Gate- the war memorial proudly standing at the heart of the city. At its base, a flame burns eternally as a tribute to the brave soldiers. Later, visit to Akshardham-World’s largest Hindu temple where we will witness the attractive Sound & light show. Later, drive back to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 02 / Delhi
Full-day sightseeing tour of the city divided in two parts- the first half for exploring the charm of Old Delhi and the second half visiting rest of the modern and historical monuments.
Start from the 16th century monument Red Fort which was built by Shahjahan when this part of the city used to be his ‘Shahjahanabad’ or Mughal capital. Witness the ancient articles and rare articles on display at the museum inside the fort and shop for popular handicrafts from the small bazaars located inside. Follow it up with a visit to Jama Masjid, which took over 5000 men and 13 years to complete and which now serves as the sacred pilgrimage shrine for both Hindus & Muslims.
Lunch will be at the famous ‘Paranteh-wali-gali at Chandni chowk serving the best of spicy foods to wrap up the Old Delhi tour. The second half of your tour includes visits to Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar, Rajghat and Lotus temple. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 03 / Delhi-Alsisar

After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Alsisar and upon arrival accommodation at Alsisar Mahal. The town is famous as the ‘open air museum’ b’coz of the beautiful paintings and frescos adorning the walls of numerous houses located within the charming village. Located at the heart of Shekhawati, the place so named after the 15th century ruler Rao Shekha. The havelis adds to its beauty surrounded by picturesque sand dunes and mansions.
A formal briefing about the horse safari to follow during the rest of the tour and take a short ride through the village to get familiarized with your horse.
Day 04 / Alsisar
After a leisurely breakfast, ride to the interior of the village, and witness the artistically done frescos and wall paintings followed by short trip to local bazaar displaying best of traditional handicrafts.
Overnight at campsite at Alsisar.
Day 5 / Alsisar-Mehnsar
Today the caravan of horse riders will proceed towards Mehnsar and upon arrival stay at a luxury camp set amidst the picturesque sand dunes capturing the nostalgia of the bygone royal age of Rajasthan. Post lunch, visit the world renowned Gold, Silver & Frescos shop.
Overnight campsite Mehnsar.
Day 06 / Mehnsar-Fatehpur

Proceed on a long ride to Fatehpur, leaving behind picturesque sand dunes, ancient ruins and remote villages falling on the way to reach campsite at Fatehpur. Built by Muslim Nawabs in 1451, the town was taken over by the Rajputs in 18th century. The chief attraction of the place is its Havelis richly decorated with frescos and paintings, of which the Mahaveer Prasad Goenka Haveli is the most popular. Ride through the village visiting all famous havelis including Choudaharia Haveli, Jagannath Haveli and Vishnukunth Haveli.

Day 07 / Fatehpur-Bagri
After breakfast, the horse safari will move towards Bagri, another sleepy little village at the heart of Rajasthan and accommodation at a royal campsite. Visit the village, enjoy a traditional lunch at one of the beautiful Haveli, interaction with the villagers and return to the campsite for a bar-be-que dinner opposite the campfire.
Day 08 / Bagri-Khuri
Morning after breakfast, ride to the village of Khuri arriving by lunch. Another of those village of Rajasthan which has managed to remain untouched by the fast pace lifestyles of modern day cities. Ride around the village or in the sand dunes followed by overnight stay at the campsite.
Day 09 / Khuri-Chapar

Today’s ride will take you to Chhapar wildlife sanctuary. Established in 1971, it’s chief attraction is the black-buck apart from a large variety of resident and migratory birds. After the tour of the reserve, continue riding towards Chapar and upon arrival stay at a luxury camp.
Day 10 / Chapar-Kandaldesar
Morning ride to Kandaldesar halting for lunch and upon arrival accommodation at a royal campsite. Ride to the village to observe the nomadic lifestyle apart from a short visit to its busy markets. Spend the night at Kandaldesar.
Day 11 / Kandaldesar-Mukam
After breakfast ride to Mukam arriving by lunch and move into the luxurious campsite. This place hosts the famous Jambheshwar fair held twice a year in memory if its founder –Jambheshwarji. Regarded as the incarnation of Lord Vishnu by the Bishnoi tribe, his 120 sayings and 29 articles covering religion, truth and self-control amongst other virtues are deeply revered by his followers. Visit the temple dedicated to Jambheshwar housing his Samadhi and portraits.
Dinner & overnight at the campsite.
Day 12 / Mukam-Bikaner
Early morning ride to the temple and fair grounds of the town followed by lunch at the campsite. Later, drive to Bikaner and transfer to a heritage hotel. Take time to relax before heading out to visit the Impressive Junagarh fort, regarded as the finest Rajput architecture and a marvelous display of artistry. Also, visit the museum inside the fort displaying rare and historic royal collection followed by a drive to the camel breeding farm.
Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 13 / Bikaner-Jaipur

Morning drive to Jaipur en-route visiting Fatehpur sikri. This deserted place used to serve as the capital of Mughal sultanate in their heydays until it was abandoned mainly due to lack of water.
Jaipur: Also known as ‘Pink City’ and the capital of Rajasthan, it is one of the most culturally rich cities in India. Morning proceed to the City Palace displaying a pleasant blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Visit the museum inside the palace exhibiting various rare and unique Rajasthani and Royal articles followed by drive to the unique ‘Hawa Mahal’ and the Jantar Mantar- the 17th century astronomical instruments which is remarkably accurate and still used by students of astronomy for their research and local farmers to predict the weather patters.
Day 14 / Jaipur
After a leisurely breakfast, proceed for a short excursion trip to Amber Fort which used to serve as the capital of Kachwaha Rajputs for over 700 years! The magnificent architecture displays a dominant use of Rajput architecture but the Mughal styles prevalent in those days is also visible in the methodical way of plastering the wall by mosaics- a purely Mughal style apparent in most famous Mughal architecture.
Take a joyful elephant ride before a visit to the local market shopping for ethnic rajasthani goods, souvenirs and handicrafts. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 15/ Departure
Day time free for leisure activities. Post lunch drive to Delhi and upon arrival transfer to International Airport for onward/return journey.
