A brief History of Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield is counted as the World’s oldest motorcycles still under production. Initially a brand of the British Engineering Firm, the Enfield Cycle Company which apart from motorbikes also produced stationary engines, bicycles and even rifle parts! The first vehicle under the brand ‘Royal Enfield’ was made in the year 1898 which was designed as a Quadricycle. The machine boasts of a strong military connection with it being used extensively in World War I for carrying machine guns and again during the Second World War for transporting war instruments.
In the year 1955, Enfield of India Company based in Chennai bought license for assembling the motorcycle in the country with parts imported from UK and by 1962 started the complete in-house manufacturing of the machine which continues till date.

Do’s and Don’ts for Enfield Safari
Arrival early: All of us need time to adjust to different Time Zone, hence it is always advisable to arrive a day in advance for adequate rest and sleep. Start your journey afresh.
Currency: For Money exchange, trust only authorized locations like Government kiosk, or in-house money exchangers in hotels.
Credit Cards: It is advisable to carry plastic money than cash as almost all major Credit Cards and accepted in most areas of the country.
Hospitals & pharmacies: Even though there are plenty of Hospitals in the country, it is advisable to carry stock of essential medicines with you.
Passports & Documents: Important documents like passports etc. must be with you all the time, and make sure you have a copy of all important docs, just in case.
Safety: Avoid speaking or mingling with strangers and walking alone in secluded areas.
Photos: There will be plenty of photography during the journey, with several picturesque locations and opportunities. So, always keep a good camera handy.
Refreshments: Carry energy foods like fresh fruits, Juices, energy drinks etc. during the journey.
Repair kit: Always keep a complete repair kit, spare tires, anti-puncture gels etc. which proves invaluable during long drives.
